The next SD LIVE online event will air at 11:30 am PDT on Tuesday, March 31. I will start it off by sharing a series of tips I’ve learned about backpacking in the rain — foot care, fire starting, campsite selection, gear selection, etc. In the second half, Michael Glavin, the Brand Manager of Sierra Designs will discuss SD’s rain solutions, mostly clothing with a little bit of shelters.
No promises this time around, but in the past SD has offered a coupon to those who tune in. An extra little incentive.

I would love to tune in live, but 11am on a work day is an awkward time for many of us working stiffs!
SD makes the videos available to watch any time, so I’m certainly not complaining – but presumably you’re holding these events live for a reason. So if you guys want to make the most of them as a marketing opportunity, it might be worth considering holding the events some time in the early evening when more people have a chance of tuning in live.
When can we expect a full review of the new Cagoule jacket and pants?
Sometime after it stops snowing and starts raining in the West. Probably the first good chance for me for testing will be in mid-June while in Rocky Mountain National Park. I’m out in April too, but southern Utah, and rain is a rare thing there.
