Events this weekend in Sheridan & Buffalo, WY

This weekend Amanda and I are driving north for events on Sheridan and Buffalo, Wyoming, presented by the Wyoming Wilderness Association.

On Friday May 25 I will be giving my “Circling Alaska & Yukon” slideshow at the WYO Theater, and on Saturday May 26 I will be giving the “Ultimate Hiking Gear & Skills Clinic” at Sports Lure. Both shows are at 7pm. There is an admission cost to the slideshow; the clinic is free.

Additionally, on Saturday morning I’m leading a conversation-paced hike into the Rock Creek Proposed Wilderness.

More details about the events can be found at: http://www.wildwyo.org/Skurka.html

Loved the no-apologies for athleticism and great wilderness. I was an admitted skeptic about the human inter-action between wilderness and sustained milege, but the show really demonstrated that athletic paces can’t keep the wilderness out of the experiance.

And the pack weights intrigued some friends to look again at backpacking and ultra-light hiking, thank for that as well

And thank you for working with Wyoming Wilderness Association.
